Top places to eat in and around the area... there is a wide variety of places to eat in and around Conwy. In the town there are Indian, Italian, French, Award winning restaurants, Bistro's, Cafe's galore and numerous Fish and Chip shops as you might expect at a seaside town. Below is a list of some of our favorite places eleswhere to have a quality eat out that do a good variety of good quality food and cater well for vegetarians as well...

Follow your Bliss (Bangor) - Having established their place on the high street in Bangor with a small venue, this Free From cafe has now expanded to fill a larger premices. Great place to stop by and grab a bite to eat and drink. More info on their website

Blue Sky Cafe (Bangor) - have a strong ethos for locally sourced, high quality foods, fair trade teas and coffees, and organic ingredients where possible. Inside you will find a cosy, amicable atmosphere whatever the weather, with a real woodburning stove and comfortable seating. (  'Lovely cafe with a quirky atmosphere. Food is fantastic we enjoyed sweet potatoe, chilli and coconut soup with amazing chips on the side. Service was very friendly.' (Trip Advisor - Customer review)

The Garddfon (Felinheli) - Set in the village of Y Felinheli on the banks of the beautiful Menai Straits, The Garddfon is a wonderful example of a traditional Welsh community pub. (  'We have eaten at the Garddfon many times and never been disappointed.The location beside the Menai Strait is perfect and the food is cooked from scratch whilst you wait; NOT microwaved! This means that you have to wait for it but the result is always excellent. The staff are most professional and helpful.' (Trip Advisor - Customer review)

Voltaire (Bangor) - North Wales' latest addition and only purely Vegan restaurant in the area. Situated within a stones throw of the iconic Bangor Pier, they have a great menu and great food to back it up, and named as one fo the best in the UK for Vegan food. They cater well for food intolerances and are open most days of the week except Mondays. Well worth the visit, at least once during your stay. info on

The Alpine Coffee Shop (Betws-y-Coed) - one of North Wales' most popular Cafes. Situated on Betws-y-Coed railway station at the heart of the Snowdonia National Park. (  'this restaurant is so good because it has an extensive vegetarian/vegan menu aswell as breakfasts , snacks and lunches there arealso vegan cakes and cookies such a delight ! there is always good service and the staff are very pleasent i would highly recomended this restaurant whether you are a meat eater or not as they cater for everyones diets.' Domu (Bangor) - Another new addition to the area on the High Street in Bangor. Serving vegetarian and vegan food and drinks, they are only open in the daytime, and food until 3pm. Definitely worth a visit if your there in the daytime. More info on their website
