The Garddfon (Felinheli) - Set in the village of Y Felinheli on the banks of the beautiful Menai Straits, The Garddfon is a wonderful example of a traditional Welsh community pub. Voltaire (Bangor) - North Wales' latest addition and only purely Vegan restaurant in the area. Situated within a stones throw of the iconic Bangor Pier, they have a great menu and great food to back it up, and named as one fo the best in the UK for Vegan food. They cater well for food intolerances and are open most days of the week except Mondays. Well worth the visit, at least once during your stay. info on www.happycow.net
The Alpine Coffee Shop (Betws-y-Coed) - one of North Wales' most popular Cafes. Situated on Betws-y-Coed railway station at the heart of the Snowdonia National Park. (www.alpinecoffeeshop.net) 'this restaurant is so good because it has an extensive vegetarian/vegan menu aswell as breakfasts , snacks and lunches there arealso vegan cakes and cookies such a delight ! there is always good service and the staff are very pleasent i would highly recomended this restaurant whether you are a meat eater or not as they cater for everyones diets.' Domu (Bangor) - Another new addition to the area on the High Street in Bangor. Serving vegetarian and vegan food and drinks, they are only open in the daytime, and food until 3pm. Definitely worth a visit if your there in the daytime. More info on their website domukafe.com
